Indigenous Knowledge Assessment on Irrigation Water Management Practices

Indigenous knowledge is the local or traditional system used by farmers. Therefore indigenous on irrigation water management means using of to manage water. This study was aimed investigate farmers’ current practice and their technical performance. In this I reconnaissance survey observation were carried out with each implementing center Woreda Bureau Agriculture obtain overview different schemes conditions. The collected qualitative quantitative data both from primary secondary sources analyzed appropriated statistical methods like SPSS. result showed that farmers have developed several practices. Among these knowledge, most in weredas use furrow method, soil moisture method crop leaf wilt techniques irrigate cropped land, Most apply at morning night time, respondents uses watering top ridge determine sufficient bottom slow stream flow for insufficient.
